Moved to England

After 30 odd hours of flying, transit lounges and endless spinach pasta stodge, I’m in London.

Now to find a job, if anyone knows of any Flash work going over here, drop me a line.

I have a job, house, etc thanks to all the people who posted links. Now I just need the weather to warm up.

Fuad Kamal Neighed:

There seem to be quite a few Londoners posting positions on LinkedIn groups. On LinkedIn try:
Actionscript 3 / Flex / Flash Media Server – developers
Adobe Flex Developers
Adobe Flex Experts
Flash Freelancers
Flex addict
Game Developers
GamesProducers
Serious Games Group

Also try Monster.com, I believe they have a UK site as well, unlike DICE as far as I recall.

Dimitree Neighed:

I wish you good luck and a great start in your new life

Burn Neighed:

Welcome to Europe! I hope some day you can come and visit Bulgaria :) Try work in orjo.com, a lot of english companies are looking for flash dev-s there!

Chris Neighed:

Welcome to the UK! Clusta (http://www.clusta.com/ though they are working on there new website version so you can visit there previous site http://www.clusta.com/v6.htm and click on vacancies) I know are looking for Freelance Flash designers / developers. They may be in Birmingham (a good trains journey from London) and have a studio in LA but are a great bunch and I don’t think it would hurt to drop them a CV. There blog has quite a few details on positions also.

Anyway, I do wish you all the best on the job hunt and hope our cooler climate isn’t making you think twice about returning to New Zealand (love the it there).

Liam R Neighed:

Hey dude,

Congrats on the move! – If you ever visit Glasgow give me a shout! I’ll have a word around the guys I know, see if anyone’s looking jobwise though.

Congrats on your move (most people I know are moving the other way!). I moved from the North Midlands to North London a few months back and found hitting up the usual portals worked for me..

Try these links – I know theyre big but ive found them useful in the past, if only to get to know some good recruitment agents:

http://www.thedrum.co.uk
http://www.designweek.co.uk/Jobs/Home.aspx
http://jobs.guardian.co.uk/
http://www.creativepool.co.uk/

good luck (not that you’ll need it!)

Anna Neighed:

i don’t think you’ll have any problems finding a gig. too bad TDR (the designers republic) folded earlier this year. but there’s still their contemporary, Kleber:

send them a wire, i’m sure you’ll be a shoo-in.

Magicdave Neighed:

Hi Dale, good luck from all your ‘old’ kiwi (and non kiwi!) buddies, speak soon.

@Scott,

No, there is not, which is a bit of a hassle for a surf junkie like myself.

Dale Neighed:

@Richard,

Cheers, looks like the positions are for the Belfast studio. Looks like a sweet place to work though.

scott Neighed:

yea I read your about and was thinking that being from the wave rich land of NZ, your bummed on the surf situation. But I feel for you man, im from kauai, hawaii and recently had to move to florida, waters warm but the surf is pretty inconsistent. Anyways your as3 work is amazing, keep it up.
